Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma is the largest lake in the state with over 600 miles of shoreline. The lake waters nestle across the old Texas Road over which carried more than a thousand covered wagons each week in the 1830's as people moved from the east into Texas. Many reminders of the area's past history including Native American life, outlaw gangs and Civil war battles remain for visitors to see.
Today the sandy beaches, towering cliffs and colorful wooded areas full of wildlife that is abundant around the lake leaves you with a feeling of awe. There is never a dull moment with outdoor activities such as boating, skiing, swimming, four-wheeling, fishing and hunting. You can rough it at one of the many campsites around the area or stay in luxury at nearby hotels or lake cabins.
